Bird Flu

Symptoms
Fever
Sore throat
Cough
Headache
Aching muscles

How we get h5n1
People catch the h5n1 through contacting with infected live birds.
The first human cases where in Hong Kong in 1997.
Scientists found that the flu could affect all the parts of the body not only the lungs.
In January 2008 they found that there was 216 had died from 348 cases.

How does it spread
The flu virus spreads through the air when a person who has the virus sneezes, coughs, or speaks. The flu can even be passed on if a person touches an object that someone with the virus sneezed or coughed on.

How can we protect ourselves from bird flu
Do not touch a sick or a dead bird.
Announce sick or dead poultry to the nearby agriculture officer or animal health worker.
Always wash hands vigorously with soap and water after coming in contacts with birds or places birds have been.
Avoid markets where poultry is sold if you hear of an outbreak of bird flu nearby.
Cook chicken meat and eggs thoroughly.
Avoid all surfaces that may have been contaminated until they have been cleaned and disinfected.
Beware don't risk your life!!!!!!!
